On December 6, 2013, Judge Clayton Davis sentenced Jaime Brooks Day to 30 years in prison. A jury convicted Day on November 13, 2013 of Second Degree Cruelty to a Juvenile.
The case was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Lori Nunn with the help of Assistant District Attorney Shunette Thomas-Jordan for the Severe Child Abuse Division of the Calcasieu Parish District Attorney's Office.
