Assistant District Attorney Jacob Johnson began his career as a prosecutor in Calcasieu Parish just last year, but he’s already taking advantage of the opportunities in his path.
In recent months, Johnson has been selected to both the Louisiana District Attorney’s Association Domestic Violence/Sexual Assault Advisory Committee and the Oasis Women’s Shelter Board of Directors.
LDAA President Hillar Moore appointed Johnson to the Domestic Violence/Sexual Assault Advisory Committee, and he will serve as the only member from the 14th JDC until August of 2016. Johnson is one of only nine members statewide.
Johnson was also recently referred to be on the Board of Directors for the Oasis Women’s Shelter. He was unanimously approved by the board. The board oversees the operation of Oasis, as well as helping to raise money and organize events.
Johnson started as a Misdemeanor attorney for the Calcasieu Parish District Attorney’s Office, but now he handles the Domestic Violence Division.
