Lopez Sentenced for Manslaughter and Racketeering

 Today, April 8, Judge Kendrick Guidry sentenced Jason Lee Lopez, 38, Highlands, Tx, to 40 years in prison at hard labor on one (1) count Manslaughter; and 20 years in prison at hard labor on one (1) count Racketeering. Both of these sentences are to run consecutive, for a total of 60 years in prison, without benefit of probation, parole, or suspension of sentence.

In 2017, Lopez was accused of killing a man and dumping his body in a Louisiana field. Lopez was also accused of being a debt collector for a high-profile drug distributor.

 

Assistant District Attorneys Charles Robinson and Taylor Alexander prosecuted the case for the Calcasieu Parish District Attorney’s Office.
