Fontenot Found Guilty as Charged of Second Degree Murder

Today, May 31, 2024, Erron E. Fontenot, 24, Sulphur, LA., was found guilty as charged of Second Degree Murder.

In 2023, Fontenot shot the victim in the head and the victim was later pronounced deceased at a hospital.

Fontenot is facing a mandatory life sentence without benefit of probation, parole, or suspension of sentence.

Sentencing will be held July 26, 2024, before Judge Robert Wyatt.

Assistant District Attorneys Joey Williams and Jordan Sutterfield prosecuted the case for the Calcasieu Parish District Attorney’s Office.
