Today, Judge Robert Wyatt sentenced Erron E. Fontenot, 24, Sulphur, LA.,
to life in prison on a Second Degree Murder charge.
In 2023, Fontenot shot the victim in the head and the victim was later
pronounced deceased at a hospital.
“I am happy that justice was served today. This defendant showed no
remorse for taking a life and he deserves to spend the rest of his life in prison. My condolences go out to the family of the victim, and I hope that today’s sentencing provides them with some
closure. I’m proud of our team for the way they prosecuted this case; there is now one less dangerous criminal on the streets of our Parish.” said District Attorney Stephen
Dwight.
Assistant District Attorneys Joey Williams and Jordan Sutterfield
prosecuted the case for the Calcasieu Parish District Attorney’s Office.
