Haywood Found Guilty as Charged of Attempted Second Degree Murder

On January 16th, Terrance D. Haywood, 42, Lake Charles, was found guilty as charged of one (1) count Attempted Second Degree Murder; one (1) count Possession of a Firearm or Carrying of a Concealed Weapon by a Person Convicted of Certain Felonies; and one (1) count Obstruction of Justice.

In 2020, Haywood shot at the victim multiple times. Despite multiple gunshot wounds, the victim survived their injuries.

Haywood is being held without bond. Sentencing will be held March 21, 2025 before Judge David Ritchie.

Assistant District Attorneys Christopher Guelzow and Jordan Sutterfield prosecuted the case for the Calcasieu Parish District Attorney’s Office.
